Steve Erwin
With a nearly operatic voice and stunningly artful songs, Steve Erwin has somehow managed to fly beneath the radar of the folks who hand out awards. Despite this he has quietly influenced many D.C. songwriters, and like his one-time accompanist Danny Gatton, Steve Erwin is rightfully regarded as the “Best Unknown” artist in D.C. today. The legendary Gatton appeared on Steve’s album, “Was It Like This” which was recorded in 1988 and released on CD in 1997 to critical acclaim. “Danny Gatton’s chops accentuate Erwin’s first-rate tunes so well, you’d think they’d been playing together all their lives.”
